History

It all began in the United States in Chicago, Illinois in 1892-1893. Elongated coins are coins rolled and pressed through hand cranked mill type machine consisting of reverse-engraved dies cut in steel rollers. Coins come in all denominations including tokens and foreign coins, with the one cent piece being by far the most common. Modern pressed-pennies are rolled and sold at many events, fairs, shows and other activities. Australia now has it’s very own penny press machines!
